The nativity scene is a powerful reminder of how God chose to enter our world—not in power or splendor, but within the simplicity and love of a family.
In the Holy Family of Mary, Joseph, and the infant Jesus, we find the perfect model of unity, faith, and sacrifice. Mary said “yes” to God’s plan, Joseph embraced his role with humility and courage, and Jesus, though divine, embraced the vulnerability of human life. Together, they remind us that family is a sacred space where God’s presence dwells.
This Christmas, let us remember that our families are called to be places of love, forgiveness, and growth. Just as the Holy Family endured hardships—poverty, exile, and uncertainty—we too face challenges. But with Christ at the center of our homes, we are strengthened to overcome these trials and grow in unity.
Let us also extend our understanding of family beyond our homes. As a Catholic community, we are one family in faith. This season invites us to reach out to those who feel alone or forgotten, to bring the light of Christ to every corner of our lives.
May the joy of Christmas fill our hearts and homes with peace, and may the Holy Family inspire us to cherish and nurture the precious gift of family in all its forms.
Amen.
