This was attended by 65 children and their parents as well as numerous volunteers. 

 

Registration was handled by Mrs. Dorothy Allen as well as Mrs. T
(Adela Tijerina) and Mrs. Sosa helping as needed.  It all went quite smoothly with much advanced preparation having been done. 

The children enjoyed watching the movie Grandma’s Bread, then actually making the bread which was blessed by Father Huy with blessings from Deacon Johnson as well. 

 

The Faith Formation office made sure all were fed breakfast of sweet breads, juices and coffee. Lunch was everyone's favorite , Pizza!

 

The presenters at the event were, Deacon David Johnson, Maggie Lopez, Obdulia Morales, and Mr. Eloy Gutierrez Jr.  They all did a wonderful job speaking about the Eucharist, Reconciliation and giving a tour of the church.

 

The general consensus was that the event was a success with many children understanding the value and the messages involved in the Retreat. 

 

The Faith Formation office would like to thank the volunteers who spent hours preparing for the retreat. The volunteers for event were Patricia Smith, Mrs. Cruz Sosa, Mrs. T (Adela Tijerina),  Rosalba Pedraza, Griselda Gonzales, Irma Martinez, Daniel Villarreal, Francelia Montes, Michelle Rodriguez, Alfredo Leyva, Maricela Leyva, Guadalupe Boyd, Maritssa Roman, Martha, Elizabeth Lopez, Gustavo Orozco, and Anthony Chavez. Debra Soloman and Geneva Soloman took care of the kitchen by baking the loaves of bread and then cleaning up.
